Waterproofing
in Bahrain

Roof, terrace, bathroom and basement waterproofing that protects your property from leaks and damp.

Water damage is expensive to fix later and easy to prevent when the right system is applied first. Urban Craft Contracting WLL provides waterproofing for roofs, terraces, bathrooms, basements and car parks across Bahrain.

Bahrain's strong sun, heat and humidity put constant stress on roofs and wet areas. A well-prepared membrane, with careful detailing at drains, edges and joints, protects the structure and the finishes inside it.

Waterproofing Services

Our Waterproofing Process

  1. Free inspection. We find the source of the problem, check the surface and recommend a system.
  2. Surface preparation. Cleaning, repairing cracks and joints, and removing loose or failed coatings.
  3. Primer and detailing. Primer on the surface, then reinforcement at corners, drains and edges.
  4. Membrane application. The waterproofing is applied in layers to the specified thickness.
  5. Testing and protection. Where the surface allows, a water test confirms the result before the final finish or protective layer.

Waterproofing FAQs

How do I know if my roof or bathroom needs waterproofing?

Common signs are damp patches, peeling paint, blistering, white salt deposits, musty smells and water stains on ceilings below. A site inspection finds the cause and shows whether recoating or full waterproofing is needed.

Which waterproofing system is best?

It depends on the surface. Liquid polyurethane and elastomeric membranes suit roofs and terraces, cementitious systems suit bathrooms, tanks and basements, and bituminous sheets suit large flat roofs. We recommend the system after inspecting the site.

How long does waterproofing last?

Lifespan depends on the system, the quality of preparation and application, and exposure to sun and movement. Proper preparation and details around drains, edges and joints matter as much as the membrane itself.

Do you test the waterproofing after installation?

For flat areas such as roofs, terraces and wet rooms, a water test is the standard way to confirm the membrane is watertight before the final finish goes on. We agree the testing plan with you before work starts.

Can you waterproof a roof without removing the old coating?

Sometimes. A sound, well-bonded layer may stay, but failed or blistered coatings must be removed. This is decided at the inspection.

Do you waterproof basements and car parks?

Yes. We work on basements, podium decks and car parks as well as roofs, terraces, balconies, bathrooms and water tanks.
